Students Susan and Larry find themselves in a lavish mansion, where they are brought by the housekeepers, Mr. and Mrs. Mackey. They claim that Susan bears a striking resemblance to Veronica, the dead daughter of their employers. Susan is kinder to the mistrustful Larry and genuinely wants to help the old couple. So she accepts the strange proposal to turn into the long-dead Veronica for one afternoon. But when the door behind which Susan was preparing for her "role" finally opens, everyone treats the girl as if she were really Veronica... And they claim that the year is 1935...
